Okay so there are about six major rankings that you can choose to be in. Since the site is very new all positions except for that of Sidhe and Dawn's Light are currently open. You can choose to be a candidate for Dawn's Light and learn the basics at the Royal Academy. Once we get enough members I'll hold the Dawn's Light competition and whoever passes will become the next ruler of Ithillian and claim a global moderator position in order to maintain the boards.
Sidhe: An ancient race that if not for the appearances of Ravenna would be merely a myth. They are like the gods of the world and were the first creatures created and have immortal life. Each Sidhe possesses great skills in every known area and are omnipotent. However there were not many created and many died after life was given to the four original Sidhe children, the ancestors of the four noble houses of Ithillian. The only one left was Ravenna who watches over everyone in Ithillian.
Dawn’s Light: Dawn’s Light is the formal title of the ruler of the Ithillian. The ruler of Ithillian who claims the title Dawn's Light can be either a man or woman. Like the light of dawn you must shine giving the people hope and courage to face the adversities that fate will throw at you. These are the word Ravenna gave when she established the test for the Dawn's Light.
Because of the Dawn's Light test there is no such thing as a set royal family in Ithillian. The Dawn's Light competition is broken up into three parts. The first part of the competition is to be selected by the current Dawn’s Light. All the candidates will be brought into the Palace and introduced to the Dawn’s Light and then one by one they will be tested in all the areas of their training and if you pass without a single mistake you will move onto the next part.
The second part to the competition is a vote from the people. Each candidate will be pitted against one another for one week where they will run the country. Three people will be selected by votes to move onto the final challenge.
The final part to this grueling competition is that they will each be given the same riddle, which will lead them to where the Dawn’s Light has hidden with the Platinum Circlet and the Platinum Knights. Whoever is the first to find them and win against the captain of the Knights will have the honor of becoming the next Dawn’s Light and ruling over Ithillian. However there is a catch. The person who takes over the throne and the Platinum Circlet may marry and have children, but it is not set in stone that the first born child will succeed the throne in order to keep things fair to everyone. Anyone from any Kingdom may come and take the test it is not restricted to only citizens of Ithillian.
Ithillian Council: The council is made up of five members. A member for each of the five Kingdoms will be selected and they can come from a royal family or be a commoner. They are the closest people who can gain access to the Dawn’s Light besides the Platinum Knights.
To become a council member is simple enough. They must have at least five years of schooling and be recommended by a former Council member and then be approved by the Dawn's Light.
They have a say in anything that the Dawn’s Light does and the council stays the same until one member dies. There is no set age for a council member, but each council member must show great intellect and negotiating skills.
Platinum Knights: This title is bestowed upon seven people, men and women, who show the most potential in all aspects of fighting and defense, courage, and wisdom within the Academy. They must have at least five years of schooling.
Their duty is to protect whoever rules Ithillian. Whoever passes the test at the Royal Academy in becoming a Platinum Knight will become one. Each member will serve as a Platinum Knight until their death or the death of the Dawn's Light they serve.
Each knight owns a weapon that bonds with the owner. It has it's own unique ability that is determined by it's weilder and the power changes with each person. No weapon has the same power as another.
Royal Guard: The royal guard serves as a sort of police. They patrol the kingdoms and make sure that everything is running smoothly without any problems. If they find a dispute they have the authority to settle it, but if it is a major issue they will take the case to the Council to solve. The Royal Guard is broken up into five sections representing the five Kingdoms. Wherever you want to serve is where you will be sent to receive your training. Anyone can join as long as they are over the age of 16. The Royal Guards are basically the armies of each seperate kingdom.
Royalty: There are only four set royal families and each family has jurisdiction over their own kingdoms. However they still report to Ithillian during council meetings to serve as they made a promise to Ravenna to report to Ithillian to maintain peace. The bloodline of the Sidhe runs strong in the four royal families as they are descendants of the four Sidhe children, but as time passed marriage with other races has provided a stronger bloodline. The Sidhe blood has escaped from these families, but it still remains the strongest within the royal families allowing the royal families to possess the strongest magic of any other race.
Nobles: Nobles are simply people who have made a name for themselves in some way or another. However along with this they also have Sidhe blood in them, but not as strong as those in the royal families. There are many noble families in all five of the Kingdoms and they all live in their own homes or have taken up residence in their kingdom's respective castles.
Commoners: Many commoners attend the Royal Academy and find jobs as a Platinum Knight or become a Royal Guard, but they are still content with their everyday lives.
Lunato Council: Those who have been corrupted by the lust for power have become members of the Lunato Council. These are the people who defy the Dawn’s Light and hate the way that their lives are run. They hate the rules of the competitions and want to usurp these age-old traditions to replace it by new ones.
One-person heads the Lunato Council, but their identity is unknown to everyone except for those who are members. The head of the Lunato Council wields a schythe that has the ability to create demons. If you are touched by the schythe you gain the ability to create demons as well, but if you are cut by it you will become possessed by a demon and eventually die.
As a mockery of the hierarchy in Ithillian the Lunato Council also has a guard as well as seven hunters who own weapons of their own just like the Platinum Knights.
